These are the ESL teacher requirements for public schools in Taiwan.
1. Qualifications
What we're looking for:
Candidates with a bachelor's degree or higher, a valid, regular government teaching license, a clear national background check issued within 6 months, and a passport expiration longer than 6 months.
Note:
1. You need to have a 4-year degree from an accredited university.
2. A transcript or completion certificate from a university of any kind is not recognized.
3. A government-issued regular teaching license or a substitute teaching license without any contact limitation.
4. TEFL/TESOL/ CELTA/teacher's diploma or any education diploma or certificate are not recognized.
5. A national background check can be from your passport country or your current location. If the check is not written in English, an English translation is required.
6. A valid passport with an expiry date beyond the contract completion date.
